Why visit Diani Beach?

Diani Beach is Kenya’s best-known south-coast beach destination, stretching along a bright Indian Ocean shoreline south of Mombasa. It is an ideal place to slow down after safari, but it also works as an active coastal base for marine excursions, cultural visits and short wildlife trips into Shimba Hills or the wider southern Kenya circuit. The destination combines long sandy beaches, warm tropical water, coral-reef environments and a well-developed tourism infrastructure. Diani works especially well at the end of a road safari through Amboseli, Tsavo or Taita Hills because travellers can move naturally from bush to coast without returning to Nairobi. It can also be used as the coastal half of a fly-in bush-and-beach holiday from the Maasai Mara or Laikipia.
